Fun Filled Weekend

We finally had a weekend with no rain, and we took full advantage of it.
Here are some highlights from our fun times:

Fence Finally Finished!

We finished the front yard fence, and just have some painting left to do, and a couple of gates left to hang. So I guess it's not exactly finished yet, but it's very close. We love it so much! Not only does it give our kids a safer place to play, it's also very pretty.

Farm Updates, and NEW Chicks!

It's hard to believe that it's already May!
We've had some very busy months recently, but I am going to try and post some farm
updates in the upcoming days.

For starters, we have some new chicks and ducklings, hatched from our incubator,
with our own eggs. The chicks are all barnyard variety, and the ducklings are Pekin/Cayuga mix.

RIP Zoe 1999-2017

Our sweet Zoe girl died this week.
It's been a sad week for many reasons, but this is the only one that is farm-related.

Zoe lived a full life, to the ripe old age of 18.
She died lying in the yard in the sun, with me stroking her soft fur.

She will be missed.

A Pig Story

Wow, that was quite a long vacation we took.
But now Spring is upon us and it's time to get busy!

Our little piggy isn't quite so little anymore! Check out her new video on YouTube, and some recent pictures below:

Catching Up Birthdays

We celebrated Baby I's 2nd birthday back in September, and Little W's 4th birthday about a week ago. I can't believe how fast these little guys are growing up!

Our First Pig!

I'm really late posting this, but we added a new critter to the farm. We got a weanling New Hampshire pig a few months ago, and she's really growing fast! Here's a few pictures of her, as well as a video of her playing with the water hose:

Baby It's Cold Outside

A cold snap brought temperatures plummeting into the single digits, freezing everything and every body. The animals were kept snug and happy with plenty of hay and fresh water as often as possible, and the wonderful fireplace kept the main parts of the old farmhouse cozy.

Little W was fascinated by the dusting of snow we got. He can't wait to get more!

Christmas decorations make the house seem warmer.

The animals look forward to getting their ice broke throughout the day.

The cold provided the perfect excuse to relax with some Christmas movies.
