Little W turned three this past week. He's growing up so fast! We had fun by building tents to play in, jumping on the trampoline, visiting the horses, and of course opening presents and eating cake.

Getting Ready for Winter
We've been busy getting the house and farm ready for the cold of winter. We got three ricks of firewood, put plastic on the windows, and tested all the space heaters. We still need to put new weather stripping around the doors. I'm dreading the cold of winter. So far its been a mild fall, though it has dipped just below freezing a couple of times... just enough to put all the trees and flowers to bed for the season.
New Ponies!
Meet Sham and Sheba! We got these ponies about a month ago. They're half Arab/half Caspian and stand around 12 hands high. They're super sweet and friendly, but haven't had much "serious" training. My hope is that I can have the kids help me train them, as they're very laid back and I think it will be pretty easy to get them under saddle.
Playing Catchup
I thought I'd kill a few minutes by browsing the blog, only to realize how much I've not posted. Back in August, just days after finishing the bathroom remodel, I fell off a ladder while doing some rearranging. I shattered all the bones in my right wrist and ended up having surgery and wearing several casts for 8 weeks. I'm still not 100% better, having numbness in my fingers (makes typing difficult) and some restricted mobility in my wrist, but my doctor thinks all will be well in a few more months.
